We're going through a situation that has not been seen in over one hundred years - a global pandemic. As the days of self-isolation and social distancing stretch on, the days may start to blend together and you may catch yourself thinking "there's nothing to do." In a way, you'd be right. In order to help the most vulnerable of us, we must stay inside and social distance. In essence - do nothing.

I don't see it as that way, though. Firstly, instead of doing nothing, we're actively helping to slow the spread of this virus. Other than that though, this isolation is an unprecedented opportunity for creative endeavors. A time to learn that guitar that's been gathering dust, a time to finally open that watercolor set you promised yourself you'd use. A time to finally feed our humanity.

As the days wear on and you find that Netflix is out of shows for you to watch, or you can't do any more on Animal Crossing until tomorrow, I encourage you to take that opportunity to feed your humanity and create some art. I don't care if you think you just made the worst drum beat on your iPhone's Garageband, or if you don't think that Bob Ross would approve of your painting. I'm here to tell you he would. During this dark time, create art. Make music, even if you don't think it's good. There are no mistakes when creating art, only "happy little accidents."

Stay safe, and stay healthy, everyone.
